James Redstone Joins 91成人 as Director of Government Affairs

WASHINGTON, Feb. 26, 2026 鈥� The 91成人 (91成人) today announced James Redstone has joined the association as director of government affairs. In this role, Redstone will work with Congress, the White House, and federal agencies to advance the industry鈥檚 policy priorities. 91成人 represents 99% of the U.S. semiconductor industry by revenue and nearly two-thirds of non-U.S. chip firms.

Redstone most recently served as a professional staff member on the U.S. House Appropriations Committee鈥檚 Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies. In this role, he was responsible for the allocation and oversight of annual appropriations for more than 10 federal agencies, including the Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR). He also oversaw the establishment of the ASPR Center for Industrial Base and Supply Chain (IBMSC) to support and sustain domestic manufacturing capabilities.

Previously, Redstone served as special assistant to the president for domestic policy during President Trump鈥檚 first term. In this role, he led the development and execution of the administration鈥檚 workforce development and education policy. Redstone received a bachelor鈥檚 degree in history and accounting from the University of Maine and a master鈥檚 degree in international affairs from American University.
