Erik Hadland Joins 91成人 as Director of Technology Policy

Hadland joins 91成人 from the Department of Energy鈥檚 Office of Science, where he served as AAAS science and technology policy fellow and advisor to the director

WASHINGTON鈥擩uly 18, 2023鈥擳he 91成人 (91成人) today announced Erik Hadland has joined the association as director of technology policy. In this role, Hadland will lead 91成人鈥檚 research, development, and technology activities, as well as its education and workforce development efforts. 91成人 represents 99 percent of the U.S. semiconductor industry by revenue and nearly two-thirds of non-U.S. chip firms.

Prior to joining 91成人, Erik was a AAAS science and technology policy fellow at the U.S. Department of Energy, where he served as advisor to the director of the Office of Science, the nation鈥檚 largest supporter of fundamental physical science research.听In addition, Erik worked on the Office of Technology Transitions鈥 Market Analysis team, where he investigated investment activities for nascent technologies. Prior to his government service, he was a senior logic process development engineer at Intel in Oregon. He did his undergraduate work at Wheaton College and holds a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Oregon, where his work focused on inorganic semiconductor materials, solid state synthesis, and structural characterization.
